Sixth session

The next two days were uneventful, they made it to the Emperor’s city with no problems. It took them most of a day to get to the second level from the Emperor’s palace. They spent the rest of the day walking the ring and ensuring that the item they were here to get was actually in the Emperor’s palace.

The group was summoned a couple of days later to meet with the counsel. The Mantis Clan representative was asked to leave and the Emperor’s Chamberlin came to join them. The group was told that an item that was imperative to the Emperor’s succession had been stolen by an Oni called Koto Khan and was being held in the Shadowlands. Several groups had been sent, and none have come back alive.

They think there is a traitor passing information and they would like an outside group of people to help with the retrieval of the staff. They were given several places to go to that would provide valuable information about the Glass Castle where Koto lives. The group traveled to the Green Castle and had to defeat a champion before they could see the seer.

Corby fought a monk cleric and did not succeed. The fates seemed to be against him. Gavin stepped into the ring and with one spell damaged the fighter he faced so badly that the fighter surrendered immediately.

The group then traveled to what was described as a black glass box where a very old man lives and no one has come out after entering. The group gained entry, fought very tough foes. It was a fight where the group had to use a lot of teamwork to defeat the Skin Shifters.

Afterwords, they went up into a tower and found an extremely old dwarf that had been a prisoner in this box. Seems he was the only survivor of an expedition to the Glass Castle and had been put here for punishment. When he was taken out of the box, he died with a smile on his face after seeing the sun.

The last place they went to was a shrine that the Crane clan suggested the group go to. There they found a river spirit folk monk. He was eccentric, Gavin tried to help him make tea, but messed that up. When the monk started to play a flute, Corby interrupted the monk, thinking that the monk was going to charm them with it. He did a knife dance that would not have compared with a dance that Sonya would have done, but it was adequate in his mind. The rest of the group tried to entertain the monk, but failed.

He stood up, annoyed and said that we would have to learn patience and courtesy. They had to head out into the woods, meditate and hope to summon a spirit to atone to. They did this, summoned the spirit after a lot of meditation and it told them how to make things right not only with the monk but with the Lady of the Winds. This done, they headed back to the monk at the shrine.

Corby apologized to him and he seemed to be appeased. The group then left their well rode horses at the nearby village and Wind Walked back to the Capital City, then to the Crab Palace near the Shadowlands Wall

This is what the group found out about the Shadowlands and the Glass Castle:

- Trust no one in the shadowlands, avoid combat whenever possible. - There are no constant directions there, the moon is the only way to navigate. - If you don’t keep to the ground, it will draw unfriendly eyes.

From the Green Castle: - The Glass Castle is invisible by day, it can only been seen by moonlight

From the dwarf in the black box: -The way to the castle is over three peaks. Go over the tallest, it is longer but safer. The shorter peak has the danger.

From the Crane Shrine monk: - Koto Khan has dragon blood (similar to a blue dragon) He sees through disguise and invisibility. - The monk also suggested that the group disguise themselves in their non Rokugani forms. The enemies in the Shadowlands will be looking for, sensing Rodugani life forms. Kazu was able to meditate and changed into an Asmir.

Third, Fourth and Fifth sessions

The group sprang into action. Raz, Creighton, Sonya and Corby charged into the hobs taking them out. A fireball was cast on the group further down the tunnel. They chased the forms deeper into the mountain until the corridor came to a T. Corby heard noises from the right side and saw two hobs duck around a corner down the way.

When he got there, he saw no hobs, but the corridor was collapsed with a lot of rubble strewn on the floor. The rest of the group had come into the T to support and were hit with a lightning bolt from the other side. The caster was surrounded by several hobs.

During the fight, Corby recognized the caster. It was Valstald, a noble New Baronage who was involved with a plan of overthrowing the Baron. After the fight was over, there was another soul sent to Hell to spend eternity with Wilhelm.

The party moved down the corridor and entered a large ceremonial chamber. Four chanters were stationed around a summoning circle. The bodies of the villagers were hung on the walls, their blood running down the walls, over the floor and into a pit that surrounded the circle. Slender bridges crossed the pit to the circle.

Stepton cast silence on two of the casters to stop the summoning. The results stunned the group. The two remaining chanters who could talk could not maintain the summoning and all four began to bleed from their orifices. Blinding flashes of light interchanged with Depths of Hell darkness were interspersed with glimpses of the horrors that could have breached into their world.

An explosion rocked the party and brought clouds of smoke to fill the room, cloaking what, if anything, had been summoned.

Most of the party moved cautiously into the room, Creighton and his amazing flying carpet scouted ahead into the cloud. Somewhere he met something that made him blurt out “Oh crap”.

A round later the smoke cleared and the group saw a beholder, Creighton on his knees atop his carpet in front of the beast. It trained its main eye on the group and every source of light, every magical means of darkvision was extinguished. The group did its best to get to Creighton’s aid, but were fumbling in the dark. There were brief moments of light when the members of the group were not affected by the eye, but were affected by the smaller eyestalks.

Corby and Stepton had made it over to the circle and were harrying the beast with Creighton. Right as the carpet warrior killed the orb, sending it into the depths of the pit, part of the circle lit up. Adrianna ran into the room shouting for the group to get into the circle before it was too late. She started to run to something she called a control pedestal.

By spells and hustling the group got into the circle before it fully lit up. A flash of light, a feeling of being drawn thin and the group found themselves in a wooden room.

Facing them was a humanoid monkey sitting cross legged in front of them, calmly waiting for the group to gather their wits. Shockingly everyone in the group had changed. Stepton was human again, Corby was a rat, Gavin a monkey and the rest of the group were various spirit folk. Behind them was a painting of someone who looked like Adrianna.

The monkey introduced himself as Kazu and said that he is the keeper of the Gate of the Winds. He and his predecessors had been waiting for the group to arrive to fulfill the prophecy to slay a great evil. The woman in the painting is The Lady of the Winds and she is the temple’s patron spirit.

A couple of days was spent meditating and getting used to the new bodies. Kazu taught the group that they could shift back into their original forms. It took a long time and they were exhausted afterwords.

This taken care of, they packed up, left the temple in the hands of the apprentice monk and headed down to a fishing village where they would take a boat to a port city. On the way they were attacked by a group of Oni (Ogre Magi) in the marches.

A day later they came across a refuge camp. The villagers said that a year ago a ship with the plague had come ashore south of their village. The proper funeral rites were not performed so on the anniversary of the wreck undead came into the village, causing the villagers to abandon their homes in a hurry.

The group traveled to the village, found that it was half burned down and swarming with undead. They were quickly defeated and the PCs headed towards the shipwreck site. As they approached the wreck many pus covered undead rose from the sand. With some turns and fighting the group took care of all of the undead before anyone was touched.

Gavin put a Consecrate around the ship and between him, Stepton and Kazu the proper rites were performed. The group brought back food, water and supplies to the villagers. There was a celebration and the villagers agreed to take the party to the port city.

Upon finding that it would take 9 days, Gavin suggested that Stepton cast Wind Walk and they could get there in a day. Also, the group said that they would buy some supplies in the town and send it back to the village.

When the party got to the port city island and the Lady of the Wind told Stepton that he had not properly requested her permission to travel by the winds. So Air Walk and Wind Walk were not available to the casters anymore. So it was on foot the rest of the way to the town.

They got to the city and had to get passes. They were going to get silver passes when Kazu mentioned that they were The Heroes of the Gate of the Wind. This got them gold passes. Which didn’t mean anything at all.

After spending the night in a very nice inn the group ran around town buying the supplies that were to be sent to the villagers, the next they went down to the docks and found out that they needed an exit pass to get out of the city.

They spent the day at the offices before seeing someone who could get them the passes. He said that it would cost 10 gp per person. Corby stated that seemed like a lot and the official started babbling the reasons why it cost that much.

Corby barked “Shut up. Here is the money” and slammed the coins onto the desk.

The official started in shock and left. The group could not find anyone to get the passes from. It was decided to leave Corby back in the inn the next day.

Very quickly the next day the group found an official to give them passes and Stepton negotiated him down to 5 gps. They had to come back that evening to pick them up.

One of the group mentioned that this time that they knew what to say this time since it went so easily. Stepton mentioned that the thing they knew not to say was “Hey Corby, come along with us”.

When they came back, they were taken to another office and seated down in front of another official. He stated that the official who took the bribe was in error and the group could not get their passes that way. He placed their gold on the table.

He did say that if they would do the Mantis Clan a favor, they would be taken to the mainland on a specially charted ship. The group got assurances they were satisfied with and took the mission. They had to spy on the Mantis Clan spymaster who was suspected of selling Clan secrets to other clans. They were given a list of places that she would go normally and a basic itinerary.

The group made plans and had Corby and Kazu follow the woman. It was a boring day until after dark. She went to a dilapidated house and entered it even though there were no lights on in the building. Corby tried to sneak into the house, but tripped a trap calling out the guards. Kazu and Corby hid for about an hour until the guards were satisfied there was nothing out there.

The next day they decided to raid the house. Corby snuck in, scouted that the rest could come in safely and then the mayhem started. Six guards were taken out, one being charmed by J’har. They were told and showed where the woman enters a tunnel hidden by a secret door. They headed down the tunnel, meeting a stone golem along the way which demanded a password. Raz shouted “Here is your password” and wailed on it with his great sword. It eventually accepted the password and they moved on.

They popped up outside the city’s walls in an abandoned inn. The group fought a group of wererats, some of them spell casters. Corby was bit, but didn’t get infected. It was full dark by the time they finished searching all of the papers and finding the damning information.

They discussed it and decided that they didn’t want to go back through the tunnel, didn’t want to meet up with the spy mistress. They contacted the official and he was very excited about what we found out, disgusted that she was dealing with were creatures.

They were given rooms in the official’s building and slept well, keeping watch incase the woman decided to attack them for revenge. In the morning, the group provided breakfast to the official and he said that the woman was killed with many losses. Seems she was not human, some fiend with tentacle hands.

They were brought in front of the Mantis Clan Lord, honored, given some gems for a reward and told they could ask the Mantis Clan for a favor.

Within a couple of days, they were on a Mantis Clan ship headed for the mainland. The overly complicated rules for engaging another ship were explained. This done, another clan’s ship threw down the gauntlet and challenged the ship.

Even with the insane rules of what can’t be done to the other ship and being outmaneuvered, the Raven Clan ship’s captain surrendered before too many of his crew were slaughtered by the Celestial Griffons that were summoned by Stepton and Kazu, the Mantis Samurai that were healing all of their wounds, or Raz and Corby running amok on the other ship’s deck. The main casualties of the battle were the enemy spell casters who were taken out long range by Gavin.

The Raven Captain turned over the ship and committed seppuku. Corby and Gavin had a problem with this. Dying in combat was one thing, killing oneself is another.

First and second sessions

Spring came to Kilm, the snow had mostly melted, muddy boots were the norm. Merchants and travelers had started to come to the small town with the better weather. Over the next several days new team members arrived from points beyond. Sonya, a dancing warrior, J’har, a wizard from the city of Flatrock and a friend of Gavin’s, Colonel Raz, a Warden who had worked with Samuel. All wanted to join the group for various reasons. They were blessed by Uncle Benton and the group got to know each other.

It was still early spring when Uncle Benton died. The magics keeping him alive and his cottage standing failed and everything faded to dust. With nothing to bury, the townsfolk erected a monument to the elder.

That night Adrianna gathered the group and told them that they would be heading out. They had to travel a long ways to the northwest into the mountains. They had to make it to a certain area before the summer solstice to receive the blessing of the Gods. Then they have to travel to a nexus to get four items which will be put together into a coin and a key. These will let them access a gate. Forces of evil will be attempting to gain these items and access the gateway themselves.

The group set off on their mission and made it to the summer solstice area with little problems, the most notable, a run in with some humanoid spider creatures and some two headed giants. Everyone had a vision during the night of the summer solstice and the Gods rewarded the group individually. This completed, the group headed out to the nexus with high spirits. They crossed a massive mountain range, encountering snow on the heights even in the summer. At the summit they saw a lush green valley spread out in front of them. A village was near that bottom of the mountain, smoke rising from chimneys.

A day and a half later the group made it to the village, now empty and burned down. It seemed like a group of large bears, dogs or wolves and humanoids had come into the village, burning and kidnapping the inhabitants. There weren’t many bodies, so they had been taken alive. The group found an old man hidden under a bed, almost dead.

He said that white giants, white wolves and white bears had swarmed the village, taking the villagers. His family had hidden him before they had been taken. The group took the old man on a travois to chase after the villains. He wasn’t in great health and died on the trail. After a ceremony, he was buried.

Over the next couple of days the group came across other emptied villages. It looked like they were catching up though.

Midday the group was coming over a rise and saw several white wolves, a couple of white bears and two white giants. The wolves and bears were scattered with a couple of fireballs from Gavin and one of the giants was ridden down by Raz, Corby and Sonya. Raz took a couple of massive hits from the giant’s battle axe, losing his little finger. He was whittled down and dropped. The other giant was taken out by Gavin’s long range spells.

They continued on, Adrianna saying that they were heading in the right direction and within a day came across some ruins up against a mountainside. The nexus was in a direct line through the ruins. There were three very large hide tents outside, ruined walls and a building that lead into the mountain. About 10 wolves, 4 bears and three giants were outside. Every once in awhile some hobgoblins would come out, take people that looked like villagers from the tents and took them inside the mountain.

They came up with the plan of Creighton taking Gavin up on a carpet and the mage taking out as many enemies as possible with fireballs. The rest of the group would be invisible and let the enemies come towards them. This plan fell apart when the giants fell back instead of coming at them. The group was over eager and ran towards the tents. The fight was harder because the group was so spread out.

All of the attacking enemies were taken care of and the group confronted the wolf who was guarding the hostages. It killed one of the villagers in front of the group and Gavin killed it with a flaming orb. At that point, two hobgoblins popped out of the mountain entrance and shot arrows at the group.

This is where the game session ended.

Things to take care of: - Hobgoblins - Search the tents - Release the villagers - Find out if the nexus is inside the mountain

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.

After a long winter

Corby relaxed by the fire, drying off and warming up. He had just finished another day of working on the palisade that was being put up around the village of Kilm and was enjoying a pipe before his wife came back. His kits were roughhousing in the main room of the cozy cabin, one of many that had been quickly built last fall to provide winter shelter for the influx of catfolk that had come to make the little village their new home.

He was amazed by the titles he had gained over the past year, an Iron Wolf, Thane, Ship’s Eyes, a Protector of the Tribe, husband, father. Not bad for a boy from the slums of New Baronage. There was no way the gang he grew up with would recognize him now.

It all started by helping a group of adventures deliver a message. He joined up with them in spite of being magically harassed by the group’s cleric, Willhelm.

He found out that the group was sent on a mission by an old man in their village named Uncle Benton. They were told that magic was resurfacing in the world and that a great evil was trying to get control of it. As a result of this evil coming around, one of the village girls was hurt in some way and was put in some kind of suspension by Benton until the group could find a cure for her. Something involving four elements and a cook.

While in New Baronage, they disrupted the plans of a coup to depose the current Baron, where Corby got the title Thane, a generally meaningless title, but it opened some doors in the merchant town of Flatrock.

The group also foiled the plans of holding the emissary from Flatrock who was bringing a trade agreement to be signed between the two countries. That won the group the gratitude of the Royal Merchant family of Flatrock.

After they had killed all of the men guarding the ambassador, a violent storm came up and for some reason, one of the group decided to walk out onto a pier over the water and got ate by a sea lion. The party wasn’t too disappointed when that this happened because the guy was a loose cannon looking to be worshipped as a hero all of the time.

Willhelm betrayed the group and began running with an evil group behind the coup. The group swore vengeance.

The barbarian of the group got married to a barmaid and decided to retire and become a tavern owner.

Sam, one of the original people from Kilm joined the group again and brought the cleric Stepton and the warmage/cleric Gavin.

When they brought the emissary back to his city, they found that a plague had started to appear in the city. With some investigation, the group tracked down the source to the sewers under the city. They trekked into that smelly hell and found out that a group of smugglers had gotten caught in a cave in which caused a series of events which resulted in the plague.

A magical device called Pipes of the Sewers fell down near a crack in a wall where periodically wind would blow across them, making them play and calling swarms of rats. The rats would mill about until they found a crate that had broken open and ate some kind of green glowing poison. Then they would carry the plague into the city. They had just destroyed the poison, picked up the pipes when the ground trembled, the tunnel caving in. Surprisingly they weren’t dead when it stopped, but deposited deep underground, far below Flatrock.

They moved from natural caves into well hewn corridors, some kind of underground city. Their exploring for a way out revealed that the builders were a squat, bearded folk, but no one had ever heard of a race like that before. After negotiating with a race of fungus people, fighting a demon that had been captured, and several mechanical statue/figures, they came across a tomb of a great king.

When Stepton put the king’s helmet on, a great change came over him. He became one of the short stocky bearded race. As an added benefit, the helmet allowed him to understand written and spoken languages.

They reached a dead end of the tunnels and Corby used a ring he had found in the tunnels to change into an earth creature that could burn through rock to create a tunnel back to the surface.

When the Royal family found out that the plague was ended, there was much rejoicing. Yeh!!!!

One of the items that was found was a necklace from the neck of the King’s neck. When they were back safe in Flatrock, Stepton put it on and went into a coma. Gavin kept watch over him, but after 24 hours the cleric woke up with almost a split personality. He had all of the memories of the Dwarven (the race of stocky humanoids who made the underground city) King and the last days when magic was present in the world. He had sent a Dwarven expedition to the islands to the south to ensure that magic would not be totally lost. Stepton also got the ability to speak dwarven and several of the party started to learn the language.

The next step of finding the cure was that the last element was going to be found on an island in the Tartan Isles. They found out that the only captain who would have the balls to take us there was down in the harbor. After meeting with Artimis Rake, everyone in the group but Corby with a lot of slight of hand dumping the rot gut, getting blindingly drunk with the man he told a story about seeing a silver ship that he lusted after.

The deal was that if we helped him get the ship, he would take us to the island we wanted to go to. We got a bunch of supplies and horses and headed down the coast to the fort where this ship was anchored. The trip was relatively quiet until they got closer to the fort. The land was overcast and vision was cut down greatly. They ran into roving bands of monstrous humanoids, dressed in archaic armor and having weapons that had seen many years of honing and sharpening.

The group found a missing farmer and decided to take him to the nearest town, Shadowcliff and leave him in the care of the fishermen there. He killed himself during the first night in town, the group wasn’t sure if it was because he had lost his wife or his prized cow to the roaming undead.

They then headed up the coast to the fort and reached the southern wall of it easily. Corby climbed up the wall and was sneaking around when he was seen by a large group of the undead humanoids. He was chased over the walls and the undead followed him onto the beach. In a running battle, they killed off the undead and they camped out on a hill until the clerics could turn again.

The fort was cleared in one large battle and then the last room was entered. A lich was in charge of the fort and in a damaging battle, it was defeated, not before it sounded a large horn, notifying something or someone, and an artifact that was to be used in the ritual to cure the woman was shattered in a massive explosion. Seems a powerful spirit had been trapped in there and was released.

The ship, The Valkyrie, was loaded up with all of the ill gotten booty and the group sailed to Shadowcliff to provision with supplies for the long trip ahead. On the way there, they came across a pirate ship that had come onto the scene recently and had been ravaging the coastline.

The Valkyrie had better wind and was faster, so they were able to get away. As they escaped, a shark came up alongside and seemed to be checking them out. They put a couple of arrows in it, which didn’t really seem to hurt it that much, but they chased it off.

The group decided to warn the villages on the coast and came across a flotilla of rickety fishing boats filled with villagers that had run away because the pirate ship had been spotted. They pulled everyone onto the Valkyrie and sailed up the east coast of the continent to drop the people off at the nearest large town. It worked out for the group because several of the fishermen signed on to be extra crewmen.

They cautiously headed down to the island and the ship threaded through some very nasty reefs. It was a dual island, one side had a smoking volcano and the other was a jungle. They had to land on the jungle island side because that was where the only beach was. They landed, then moved up into the trees. They came across a half crazy marooned sailor who said he was dropped off here by the pirate ship.

The group questioned the man and he told a strange tale of men who could shift shapes, into wolves, bears, and even a tiger! There was also strange man who was constantly covered in a dark cloak. He admitted that he was a were-swan, but didn’t change for the group so they didn’t take him too seriously. He wouldn’t go with us up the hill saying that when the crew was in their animal shapes hunting their prey, they wouldn’t go up very high in the hills. He also pointed out that there was a natural bridge over to the volcano side of the mountain.

The party moved up the hill and before getting to the bridge, they noticed that they were surrounded by cat people. They surrendered, but when the cat people saw Stepton as a dwarf, they were excited, joyous that one of the masters had returned.

They were taken to the village and explained to the chieftain what they were there for. They were told that there was a sacred place on the other island created by the masters. They held rituals there, but every two weeks, there were horrible noises and anyone over on that island was never seen from again. Dun, dun DUN!

They were given a guide and headed over, ending up at an amphitheater that had been built by the dwarves. There were many statues of animals around the outside and three massive statues of dwarven mythic personalities. Inside the theater was a forge that was powered by the earth’s blood and a massive anvil. Along the walls was a recipe of how to make weapons of fire or armor that was imbued with the power of the earth. The armor recipe was damaged, but earth rumblings, but with the were-swan’s help, Gavin decided to make a flaming longsword for Sam and a flaming kukri for Corby.

While this was happening, they got a message from the Captain of the Valkyrie that the reefs had moved around the ship and it couldn’t move. The group had the Captain use one of the ship’s abilities to submerge for 90 days until the weapons were completed.

Every two weeks an elemental would attack the group, that was the source of the howling and killing of the people on the island. After the pattern of elements was figured out, it was very easy to prepare for them and they were quickly overcome. At the end of the 90 days, Gavin proudly displayed the weapons he had created, the Valkyrie surfaced and the pirate ship appeared.

Also, it came time for a sacred ritual that the cat ranger told the group about. With the great magic from the Dwarven Masters, one of the group could become a cat folk. With very little hesitation Corby volunteered to change from being a human to become a cat. The ritual was not that long and a bit uncomfortable, but at the end, Corby had been irrevocably changed.

Luckily the pirate ship didn’t notice the Valkyrie because she was so low to the water. Unluckily, the volcano island started to show signs that it was going to blow up.

The were-swan said that he could take the silver that wasn’t used for the weapons and make a power that would debilitate the crew of the pirate ship. He whipped it up and the group came up with a plan to get it into the breakfast of the crew. Gavin was changed into a cat and the shaman of the cat folk changed into an owl to fly Corby and him over to the ship.

There were two were-wolves at the back of the ship and a cook in the kitchen. Gavin suggested making a trail of gold pieces away from the kitchen towards the bow and knock on the door. Corby did this and the cook took the bait, collecting the ill gotten booty. Corby slipped into the kitchen, put the power in each of the cook pots and got out just as the cook came back in.

This completed, Corby went into the ammo magazine and set up a trap to go off in the early morning, after all of the crew had eaten. He wasn’t 100% sure it would go off, but there was nothing more he could do. He called to the druid to pick them up and then they left.

They stationed themselves at the top of a ridge overlooking the beach waiting for the ship’s company to land. A couple minutes past the time Corby set the timer for everyone was getting nervous. But with an explosion that stunned everyone, the front of the ship erupted into a fireball and started to sink. The group saw a small boat launch and head towards the beach.

When it reached the beach, Gavin hit them with a fireball, destroying the lifeboat and some of the were-wolves. In a rather easy battle with the enemies slowed down in the sand. Gavin went toe to toe with the figure in the black robes and finally took him down.

There was a figure that ran very fast and turned invisible. It disappeared in the trees, then started to attack the mages. The group couldn’t stop him, so they made a deal with him, that they would take him off the island, drop him off and give him 24 hours to run. They made the deal with a bunch of assurances and then looted the bodies.

That is when they found out that the figure in the robe was Wilhelm and he was the one who set up the whole pirate scheme. Corby kicked the body several times and cut the head off, throwing it into the sea.

The captain of the pirate ship, the one they made the deal with, said that the only way to have the reefs moved is to deal with the undersea folk. And the only thing that they will ask for, want is salted pork. All of the supply of went down with the pirate ship.

The group decided to talk to the fish folk and see what they could do to get them to move the reefs so they could get out before the volcano blew. They made a deal that they would rescue the fish’s princess who was captured by another race of fish folk. The captain of the pirate ship had a bunch of items that allowed people to function underwater, so the group headed out, deep into the ocean’s depths. While this happened, the cat folk were ferried to the Valkyrie.

Eventually, they came across what looked like another Dwarven ruin and upon entering, started clearing it out room by room. These fish folk were very dangerous as they could control people’s minds and in most of the battles, someone was controlled.

They got to where the princess was kept and found that she was being kept in the room by a flow of fresh water. They took apart the wall and found a jug that would constantly produce fresh water. When capped, the princess was freed and reunited with her people.

The Valkyrie was loaded up, the pirate captain put into a stateroom and they sailed off. About a day away from the island, it blew and a dark cloud overcame the ship. Rake shouted out to hold on and a huge wave overtook them. They weathered that one and the several others that came. From then on, it was smooth sailing back to Flatrock.

Several of the cat folk stayed with Artimus, but most followed the group back to Kilm to set up a new village. The group took the were-swan and the elemental items they had gathered to Uncle Benton who greeted them all as friends he had known for a very long time.

The ritual was performed and all of the items with the exception of the helm of languages were consumed. Adrianna was cured and was a changed woman from what the original group members said. She was more focused, more serious. Sam, who had a crush on the beauty was dismayed, he thought that his heroic efforts to restore her would cause her to be enamored of him. This seemed not to be. All she would talk about is the plans for battling the upcoming evil after winter had passed.

The group spent the time building housing for the new additions to the area and had almost completed a palisade around the town. Negotiations with the White Bone Tribe had strengthened the two groups and they joined the cat people patrolling the area, keeping things safe.

As he finished his pipe, Corby realized that this relaxing time would not last, he would leave his wife and kits to go out into the world with their leader Adrianna and the rest to fight this evil.

He shrugged, life could be worse.
